Description: You and your child/children will help make dinner for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Children learn/practice basic cooking skills in a group setting while at the same time supporting a great cause! Optional tour of the facility after the activity. We are looking for 3-4 families (10 individuals) to help out.

Description: Children must be at least 8 years of age to participate. We recommend one parent/adult accompany each child. You and your child/children will help prepare food, set-up cooking stations, wash/dry dishes, and help out with other tasks in preparation for other family volunteers coming to make dinner for guests of the Ronald McDonald House later that afternoon. We are looking for 2-3 families (6 individuals) to help out as sous chefs!

Description: Children must be at least 8 years of age to participate. Spend part of your afternoon at the Capital Area Food Bank sorting and packing food items. Get a “behind-the-scenes” look at how food donations from the community get to hungry Central Texans. We’re looking for 4-5 families (15 individuals) to join our group for this fun, hands-on volunteer activity.

Description: You and your child will help make posters in support of the “Respect Your Elders” campaign being launched by H.A.N.D. (Helping the Aging, Needy, and Disabled), a nonprofit that provides in-home attendant services to the elderly and disabled.  This is a great project for children who love art projects. We are looking for 3-4 families to help out (10 individuals).

Description: Support homeless and impoverished individuals and families in the UT campus area by helping bag groceries after they shop for food and other basic needs items in the Micah 6 pantry. All supplies provided. This is a great activity for children ages 4 and up. For children 4-7 years of age, we recommend that one parent/adult  accompany each child. We are looking for 2-3 families (8 individuals) to join our group.

This is a great activity for children who enjoy art projects and an opportunity to meet new friends! We are looking for 4-5 families (15 individuals) to join our group.

Location: Caritas of Austin, 611 Neches St., Austin
Description: You and your child/children will help out in the Community Kitchen/Pantry at Caritas of Austin. Tasks may include assembling sandwiches or meal items to be served during lunch the following day, preparing individual rice/bean bags, or other assembly projects in support of Caritas programs and services. A great volunteer activity for children as young as 3 or 4. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about Caritas and how they support individuals and families experiencing poverty. We are looking for 3-4 families (10 individuals) to join us.
