Location: Goodwill Community Center, 1015 Norwood Park Blvd., Austin
Description: You and your child will help breakdown computers to resell and recycle in support of Goodwill’s job services and programs that connect Central Texans to meaningful employment. This is also a great opportunity to learn about joblessness and how organizations like Goodwill help individuals find, obtain, and retain jobs in our community. In addition, participants will have the opportunity spend some time in Goodwill’s Computer Museumthat exhibits the chronological evolution of computer technology through educational displays and demonstrations. Two shifts available. The first shift is reserved for first-time Little Helping Hands volunteers only. We’re looking for 6-8 families (18 individuals) per shift to participate in this recycling activity. We recommend one parent/adult accompany each child, especially for younger children.
Time Frame:
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm (Shift 1) - Reserved for volunteers who have not participated in a LHH activity before.
2:30 pm – 4:00 pm (Shift 2)
