What Families are Saying:
This is an amazing nonprofit that my children and I have had the privilege of volunteering with for many years. The staff are so friendly and great with kids, the organizations that Little Helping Hands work with always have age-appropriate activities, and the benefits are great for both the organizations seeking assistance and the families. My kids have learned a great deal at every job that they have volunteered to do. Some are more fun than others, but as my kids get older I can see that they are beginning to understand the importance of every job. It is wonderful to discuss with them how their work helps others during and after each activity.
I wasn’t sure that helping a family in need was absorbed, but this morning when my 4-year old got into the Tupperware to play and I asked what he was making he said, “This is a kids cooking kitchen and we’re making food for a family whose mommy has been really sick.” He totally took it all in!
Wonderful organization that does amazing things within the community helping those in need (e.g. Caritas, Shelters, Parks, etc.) Best of all the focus is on the children providing the support and learning what it truly means to “help thy neighbor.”
We had a great time! My 5-year old son was worried about his ability to do the activity, but soon realized he could do it and I was there to help him if he needed it. He talked about the mommy he helped a lot. He was very proud!
My three children and I have been volunteering with LHH for the past several years. We’ve experienced a range of their activities—from making holiday crafts at a senior center, to making lunches for residents of a Foundation Communities, to picking kale at a local farm, and many, many more. Each time, we learn something new and it has been incredibly valuable for my children to learn about so many different aspects of our community. LHH is extremely well organized and I feel very lucky that we have such an amazing and much-needed nonprofit here in Austin.

What Partners are Saying:
Operation School Bell, a program of Assistance League of Austin, is so grateful for Little Helping Hands’ generous support. Their wonderful children and parents have assembled thousands of hygiene kits that Operation School Bell gives to Austin children in need. You have increased our children’s awareness of others’ needs and given them opportunities to act on that need—thank you for your energy, your commitment, and your help.
– Judy Martin, Chair, Operation School Bell
In a very short time Little Helping Hands has established itself as an organization that makes a difference in the lives of countless people in Central Texas. Teams of children come three times each month to prepare delicious meals for the 20 or more families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. We are delighted to have Little Helping Hands as a consistent volunteer presence in our House, helping families during very challenging times.
– Jan Gunter, Communications Manager, Ronald McDonald House of Austin and Central Texas
Little Helping Hands has been such a blessing to Animal Trustees of Austin. Their participation in our 4 Paws Dog Food program for the homeless community’s pets in Austin has been amazing. They have helped us take a “sometimes” program and turned it into an “always” program. Thank You Little Helping Hands for helping us make a difference in the lives of pets in Austin!
